2023 was a busy year for

our saYPro Steering Committee!

December:

Once again we partnered with Toys for Tots and had an outstanding year. Our board members delivered over 100 boxes throughout Shawano Country.  A team of members picked up all the boxes in one day and had a record for donated toys.  saYPro also donated two bikes to the organization. 

 

November:

saYPro hosted our Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser at Golden Sands Golf Course.  Another sold out event that was filled with networking and great rounds of trivia. So thankful for all of our sponsors but especially our Presenting Sponsor: Scrub A Dub Auto & Pet Wash!

October:

October 18th, we hosted another event with our partnership for Shawano Country Progress summitt: Economic Forecast.   John Koskinen and Cari Redington present information regareding Wisconsin and Shawano Country economies. We are excited to continue this partnership with the Shawano Country Chamber, NWTC, SCEPI and Shawano Schools. Watch for our 2024 events!

 

 

September:

We hosted Headshot Happy Hour on September 19th at the Naberhood, downtown Shawano.  This was a great networking event and provided the opportunity to update your professional headshot.  A huge thank you to Sam with Golden Grace Collection for providing headshots.  Also, a huge thank you to Stubborn Brothers Brewery for opening their Beer Garden for us.  

July:

We received multiple applications for our scholarship to Leadership Shawano County Class of 2024.  We are excited to announce we have selected three individuals who have all been accepted into the program. Stay tuned for that announcement coming out in September!

saYPro participated in the 33rd Annual Chamber Golf Outing, again this year.  We sponsored mulligans, where board members, Sam Sperberg & Cathryn Griesbach sold mulligans during registration.  Our golf team, consiting of Zach Lindsmeyer, Kayla Johnson, Karissa Kunschke and Jenny Powers won the "Best Cart" award.  We loved seeing saYPro members all day long, including our administrator, Vaughn Bohm and saYPro member, Nicole Kunschke.

July 8th we partnered with Shawano BID and volunteered during ShawanoFest!  Our board members, Sam Sperberg, Vaughn Bohm, Leah Pierquet and Kendra Schmude, alongside saYPro members, Bethany Retzlaff and Olivia Schultz, volunteered their valuable time to support this amazing event!

June:

June 8th, we attended Leadership Shawano County's 2023 Graduation and presented our first ever scholarship.  Congratulations to our two board members, Kendra Schmude & Leah Pierquet, along with saYPro Members, Elizabeth Hoffman, Clint Whitehorse, Melanie Curti and Samantha Kauffman. We are so proud of these individuals and look forward to seeing what your leadership skills will do for Shawano Country!

May:

May 17th, saYPro hosted our second event with Shawano Country Progress Summit called Business Succession Planning. A huge thank you to our panel of speakers: Scott Bushkie with Cornerstone Business Services, Jayne McQuillan with Journey Consulting and Megan Dickman-Renard with The Business News.  These three individuals talked about starting, selling and buying businesses in Shawano Country. They provided insight for all business levels and were able to answer questions for community members.  Before and after the event, attendees were able to network with each other and make connections.  saYPro members received free admission, which included heave appetizers and two beverage tickets.

May 5th, saYPro hosted our 7th Annual Cosmic Bingo Fundraiser.  The event was sold out weeks prior and we were able to provide large prizes due to our amazing sponsors!  We couldn't do this without all of your support and generosity!

Do to another successful fundraiser, we are able to continue to give back to our community, provide scholarship opportunities, host free/discounted events and so much more!

April:

April 19th, saYPro teamed up with Shawano Country Chamber, NWTC, Shawano Community Education and SCEPI to present Shawano Country Progress Report: Why Shawano? 

During this event, a panel of representatives from SC Swiderski, Nueske's and The Stock Market shared their different perspectives of why they chose Shawano Country for their businesses.

February:

February 4th, we hosted our first ever Sweetheart's Maker's Market at Shawano County Park Pavilion.  We had over ten local vendors and all proceeds from this event went toward our annual food drive.  Thank you to those who attended, stay tuned for next year's event!

February 1st - 15th we hosted our annual food drive which benefits WeeCare Food Packs of Shawano and Backpack Blessings of Bonduel.  We were able to provide hundreds of single serve items to both locations with also the largest monetary donation, yet!    Thank you to our donation sites of: Charlie's County Market, CoVantage Credit Union, Prey & Asenbrenner Insurance, Bullfrogs & Butterflies, STRIVE Behavioral Solutions, Cellcom, KerberRose, Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce and Shawano & Menominee Counties Health Department. 

 

January:

We kicked off the year with our first Adult Prom at Stubborn Brothers Brewery on January, 21st 2023.  With over 100 people in attendance, it was a great event and everyone danced the night away. We are thankful for our professional photographer, Through the Lens Photography for taking Red Carpet photos, which were sponsored by Novolex.  We also had beautiful charcuterie boards and dessert bar, sponsored by, Bug Tussel AT&T. 

Lastly a huge thank you to our amazing DJ, MC Whitehorse with Badgerstate Productions!
